Hemkiran Jewels sets a new benchmark for jewellery retail facades, with a striking parametric design by Soga Design Studio that fuses contemporary luxury with computational artistry.
Design Concept
The modular, diamond-shaped metallic panels create a bold rhythm and multi-dimensional texture that transforms the showroom facade into a work of architectural art. Their faceted geometry, inspired by gemstones, delivers precise alignment around varied window shapes, achieving high-impact visual layering. Each panel works in concert to form a cohesive yet dynamic pattern that captures and reflects light throughout the day, creating an ever-changing visual experience for passersby.
Computational Approach/Material Engineering
Soga Design Studio leveraged Rhino/Grasshopper to develop precise algorithms for panel geometry, ensuring each modular element could be fabricated with millimeter accuracy. The metallic bronze-composite panels were selected for their durability, corrosion resistance, and ability to maintain their lustrous finish over time. Concealed structural fixing systems create a seamless appearance while allowing for thermal expansion and contraction. Weather-resistant surface treatments protect against monsoon conditions and urban pollution, while the integration of planter boxes adds a biophilic accent that softens the metallic composition and connects the building to its natural surroundings.
Functional/Aesthetic Benefits
The deep-set panels provide natural daylight control, reducing solar heat gain while maintaining a luminous interior environment.
